Matthew Proman: A Determined Success

Matthew Proman is an entrepreneur with a bold, deliberate and highly infectious spirit.

At 34, Proman has achieved considerable success through a keen and uncommon ability to identify and fill industry needs – particularly by bringing people together in ways that encourage widespread professional growth and development.

A man of many interests and talents, Proman has accomplished an array of commercial and civic achievements by tapping into an unwavering regard and respect for the strengths’ of individuals. He passionately believes that unexpected results can be achieved when like-minded people come together and focus their collective talent and insight on overcoming limitations imposed by traditional expectations.

Matthew Proman possesses energy and is not constrained by the conventions of time-of-day or day’s-of-the-week: The speed with which Matthew acts and the extraordinary number of disparate business ventures and philanthropic efforts in which he is regularly involved are not limited by what most view as “too much to handle”.

Born of modest means and raised on New York’s western Long Island, Matthew was determined, at an early age, to make something of himself. He was driven by two forces -- to achieve commercial success and to contribute to society and the welfare of those who were limited by health-related impediments or unfortunate socio-economic circumstances. His path to success, while meteoric, has not been text book, nor has it avoided what he openly refers to as sporadic incidences of youthful misjudgments fueled by unrestrained energy, idealism and a touch of naivety.

Matthew Proman decided to forgo college to start his own business. And, his early success begat future success in relatively short order, in large part because he recognized and was sensitive to the power of communications and facilitated, structured networking. Proman founded what is now the largest and most recognized networking registry in the nation.

While growing his first enterprise, Proman soon recognized that some of his best clients were professional women. From his exposure to this important segment of the business community, he quickly gleaned how he could provide the critical support professional women need to further their business growth and career advancement. Proman understood how to establish platforms from which individuals can efficiently and effectively present themselves to further their careers and to achieve personal and professional success.

With this keen insight, and recognizing that professional women throughout the United States could greatly benefit from an association devoted to facilitating networking and the enhancement of knowledge and insights among these professional women themselves, Proman founded the National Association of Professional Women.

NAPW is the fastest growing and most recognized women’s association in the nation.  NAPW assists its accomplished members, from businesses large and small, to achieve powerful business growth and professional career development through interactive online networking forums, local face-to-face chapter meetings, access to local and regional seminars, webinars, podcasts, keynote speakers, and many NAPW educational tools. The organization provides an advanced forum for like-minded professional women to gain exposure and to create innovative social and business relationships, boost their careers and become more productive and successful.  NAPW currently employs 70 people, 97 percent of whom are women.

Matthew Proman is an avid philanthropist. He regularly contributes money and in-kind service to a broad array of charities such as Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, The National Diabetes Foundation and the Jack Martin Foundation for Terminally Ill Children. In addition, in recent years, Proman ran a number of New York City Marathons, raising over $100,000 for a variety of charities.

Currently, Proman is spearheading a unique NAPW-sponsored public-private initiative to provide association members an opportunity to mentor young girls who take part in the Urban League of Essex County’s Newark, New Jersey-based after school program. Here professional women will help junior high school aged, inner city girls understand how best to prepare for what it will take to become successful professional women.  Matt Proman’s goal is to expand this mentorship program nationally through NAPW’s local chapters, which are opening in cities across the country.
